This vintage Adkin & Sons 'Nut Brown' Tinamp is a genuine vintage
2oz tobacco tin craftily upcycled into a portable speaker. It is one
of a limited supply of a stash from Bert Wiseman's shed built in 1958
where he spent evenings and weekends making furniture, planning
DIY and electronics projects, drinking tea, smoking, and gradually
filling hundreds of empty tobacco tins with screws, nails, washers
and other useful things.
Each tin is of course authentically marked, scratched and worn
(not at all distressed) all of which makes it more collectible.
The custom design wood speaker grill adds warmth to a great sound
and the retro metal toggle switch adds that unmistakable retro 'click'.
Bert would be proud of them. It has a rechargeable battery and comes
USB charging cable plus audio cable. You can use it with any
mp3 player, phone, iPad or computer with a 3.5mm headphone socket
which is just about every device. Each Nut Brown Tinamp comes with
a signed and numbered Certificate of Authenticity signed by
Grand Master Phil. Unfortunately not by Bert.
